- Helps you hone your skills and knowledge.
- Serves as a sounding board.
- Gives you inspiration.
- Connects you with a like-minded community.
When you started your practice, you were excited to spend your hours treating patients and helping people become healthier. As it turns out, practicing Oriental medicine looks a lot more like entrepreneurship—endless marketing, accounting, and streamlining systems. Do you:
Wonder how you balance these two sides of your business?
- Feel alone in your practice?
- Wish you had someone to give you support?
- Wish you could work with someone who has done it already?
- Wish you could reach out to someone who really understands and who will share your successes and failures with you?
- Wonder if there is a more direct path to getting results in your business and for your patients?
- Wonder if you should specialize or be a general practitioner?
Then, let’s partner to make your practice the most successful that it can be.
Your present circumstances don’t determine where you go; they merely determine where you start. – Nido Qubein
I’m Tansy Briggs, and I’ve been a practitioner of Integrative Oriental medicine since 2001. I have had experience in starting a practice from scratch, purchasing an existing practice, selling a successful practice, joining established practice groups, and teaching at an acupuncture school.
My experience is especially useful for practitioners who work or are interested in the fields of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, pediatrics, autoimmune disorders, chronic diseases, and Integrative Oriental Medicine. My education was predominantly in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but I am familiar with Five Element and Japanese style as well.
My professional development one on one programs will help you attain your goals for your business and your life.
Kindness is not a weakness. In fact, it is essential to cultivating connections in business and life. – Ozlem Beldan
Why consulting & mentoring?
I come from a long line of educators in my family. I grew up believing that we should share, to the best of our ability, our learning, experience, and insights with willing students, so that they can grow even further. All throughout my education, I had the following quote tacked up on my desk:
In times of change, learners inherit the earth. – Eric Hoffer
Do you believe in embracing modern technologies, perspectives, new research, and modern medicine to achieve goals?
Do you want to streamline your practice and treatment plans to get real results in the front office, as well as the back office?
Do you believe the combination of kindness and collaboration carries its own type of grit?
Do you want a proactive, solutions-oriented practice?
Do you believe in cultivating both your professional and personal life to reflect your own definition of success?
Professionals collaborating together are the foundation of a positive, supportive community.
Our industry is often cloaked in secrecy, competition and can be territorial. We withhold information from each other, horde successful treatment plans, and silently judge one another’s competency. I want to change that attitude through working one on one.
I seek to build a community of professionals who support each other, who strive to continually improve ourselves and our practices. Together, we will focus on getting results for our patients, honing our skills, and supporting each other.
I may have a calm and kind exterior, but on the inside I am a Colorado woman raised on rattlesnake and saddle. I have the focus, vision, and staying power to help you obtain your goals.
If your vision aligns with mine, I would love to work with you. I will help you build a practice that serves your patients, hones your skills, adds value to your life, and contributes to our growing professional community as a whole.

Working with Tansy for several months has been immensely helpful as my practice continues to grow (now in it’s third year). I’ve noticed that I am more confident as a practitioner, and I am meeting financial goals with greater ease. This is in large part due to Tansy’s insight and expertise, which she offers with a gentle and compassionate coaching style. It has been extremely helpful to have a mentor with which to discuss challenging patients – and the challenges of running a business simultaneously.
What I love about working with Tansy is that she takes time to really know you as a person and a practitioner, and then mirror that back to you. Knowing my strengths and better understanding areas that need tending and attention has really supported forward momentum. I can see when I am getting in my own way, and can shift more readily as a result.
I highly recommend working with Tansy to anyone, not just as a new practitioner, but to anyone who wants to streamline their practice and gain a greater understanding of how to be more effective as a practitioner. For me, this experience is like giving myself a gift that in turn supports the health and wellbeing of my patients. – M.W.
I am not a teacher, but an awakener. – Robert Frost
Tansy has been such an amazing influence on my learning over the past two years. Her enthusiasm about Chinese Medicine has really made it easy to learn from her, and her passion has really been infectious and made me want to study further on my own.
Tansy’s way of explaining treatment modifications or alterations is very easy to understand, and she always has a reason for why every acupuncture point is used in the treatments that she comes up with. Her interaction with patients is very caring and professional. – A. R.
